Soonhee Cho Was Permitted to Resign Following Allegations of Rule Violations


Soonhee ChoPublicly available records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and accessed on November 30, 2017 indicate that California-based H. Beck broker/adviser Soonhee Cho, also known as Susie Cho, has received a pending customer dispute. Soonhee Cho has spent 19 years in the securities industry and has been registered with H. Beck in Whittier, California since 2009. Previous registrations include First Allied Securities in Torrance, California (2008-2009); FFP Securities in Torrance, California (1999-2008); and Waddell & Reed in Overland Park, Kansas (1998-1999). She has passed three securities industry examinations: Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination), which she obtained on June 26, 1998; Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination), which she obtained on October 17, 1997; and Series 7 (General Securities Representative Examination), which she obtained on April 15, 1998. She is a registered broker and investment adviser with two US states and territories: California and Washington.

According to her BrokerCheck report, she has received one pending customer complaint and was permitted to resign from a former employer in connection to alleged rule violations.

In November 2017 a customer alleged Soonhee Cho, while employed at H. Beck, recommended a non-traded real estate investment trust product that was “an unsuitably high risk, illiquid investment” and additionally that she failed to disclose material facts related to the product’s liquidity. The customer is seeking $193,000 in damages in the pending complaint.

In 1999 she was terminated from her position at Waddell & Reed following allegations she failed to comply with the firm’s policies and procedures regarding correspondence.
