Robert Hoffman Received a Sanction For Failing to Disclose an IRS Tax Lien


Robert HoffmanPublic records published by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and accessed on September 12, 2017 indicate that former Indiana-based Woodbury Financial Services broker Robert Hoffman has been sanctioned by FINRA and suspended from acting as a broker. He is currently not registered with any state or firm.

In September 2017 FINRA sanctioned him following allegations he “willfully failed to timely amend and willfully failed to correct his Form U4 to disclose an unsatisfied Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax lien filed against him within 30 days of receiving notice of the lien.” He was issued a 3-month suspension and a fine of $5,000.

In January 2017 a customer alleged Robert Hoffman, while employed at Woodbury Financial Services, recommended unsuitable products, effected unauthorized transactions, and churned investments in mutual fund products, a coal mining company, and aircraft company, and variable annuities. The customer is seeking $3,200,000 in damages in the pending complaint.

In 2014 a customer alleged Robert Hoffman, while employed at Woodbury Financial Services, recommended an unsuitable variable annuity investment. The complaint settled in 2015 for more than $47,500.
