Mark E. Jones, Denver Financial Advisor with History of Customer Disputes, Sued Again

A 45-year veteran of the securities industry, Mark E. Jones (CRD#: 261512) is currently a registered representative with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated in Denver, Colorado. According to his BrokerCheck report accessed on August 15, 2019, he is currently involved in a pending dispute, filed on May 17, 2019, in which a client alleges misrepresentation of managed wrap accounts.

On February 25, 2014, a client alleged unsuitable recommendations, misrepresentation, and “omission of material facts” related to equity-listed common and preferred stock. Mark E. Jones’ firm settled the matter for $26,250.

After a client filed a complaint on May 26, 2009, alleging “failure to follow instructions” regarding equity-listed common and preferred stock, Mark E. Jones’ firm settled the matter for $12,000.

On April 16, 2007, a client alleged “significant losses in covered call trades” related to OTC equity. Mark E. Jones’ firm settled the dispute for $387,616.

On December 2, 2002, a customer alleged “breach of agreement to invest in an outside business venture.” The firm settled for $25,000. The broker comment reads in part, “Believing he ahd [sic] the firm’s approval to invest in the outside business venture, Mr. Jones agreed to purchase from the customer shares of common stock of Fuzion Technologies, Inc.”

On April 15, 2002, a client requested $2,700,000 in damages, alleging that Mark E. Jones recommended unsuitable investments in stocks and OTC equity. The customer won an arbitration award for $400,000.

On December 8, 1995, a client alleged misrepresentation, seeking $100,000 in damages. Mark E. Jones’ firm settled the dispute for $13,000.

On September 21, 1992, a customer alleged “excessive stock trading and unsuitability.” They requested $17,500 in reimbursement, and matter was settled for $14,000.

On October 1, 1990, a client alleged unsuitable recommendations. Mark E. Jones’ firm settled the case for $40,000.
