He is a registered broker with nine US states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, New Mexico, South Carolina and Texas.

According to his BrokerCheck report, he has received one pending customer complaint.

In 2016 a customer alleged John Kolody, while employed at Foothill Securities, breached his fiduciary duty and recommended unsuitable mutual fund investments. The customer is seeking $1,200,000 in damages in the complaint, in which he is not named as a defendant.
