Gregory McCloskey Was Issued a Fine and a Fifteen Day Suspension

Publicly available records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on May 12, 2017 indicate that California-based Westpark Capital broker/adviser Gregory McCloskey has been sanctioned by FINRA. Gregory McCloskey has spent nineteen years in the securities industry and has been registered with Westpark Capital since July 2016. Previous registrations include Newport Coast Securities in Irvine, California; National Securities in Newport Beach, California; Wedbush Morgan Securities in Los Angeles, California; Brookstreet Securities Corporation in Newport Beach, California; Jefferson Pilot Securities in Fort Wayne, Indiana; SII Investments in Appleton, Wisconsin; Dean Witter Reynolds in Purchase, New York; and Centaurus Financial in Anaheim, California. He is a registered broker with ten US states and territories: Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New York, Oklahoma, and Oregon.

According to his BrokerCheck report, Gregory McCloskey has been sanctioned by FINRA.

In May 2017 FINRA sanctioned him following allegations he “participated in a series of private securities transactions without providing written notice to or receiving approval from his member firm to engage in such activity.” FINRA stated further that Mr. McCloskey, “without his firm’s approval, personally invested $50,000 in a lighting and energy networking company and introduced two of his customers to the company, and they invested a total of $50,000. McCloskey did not receive any selling compensation.” He was issued a fine of $5,000 and a 15-day suspension which will commence on June 5, 2017.
