In February 2017 he was sanctioned by FINRA following allegations he failed to respond to a request for information. He was consequently barred from association with any FINRA member in any capacity.
In 2016 a customer alleged David Beutler, while employed at Wells Fargo Advisors, recommended unsuitable investments between 2011 and 2015. The complaint settled in June 2017 for $150,000.
