Anthony Cummings

Publicly available records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on May 18, 2017 indicate that former Maryland-based Edward Jones broker/adviser Anthony Cummings has been sanctioned by FINRA and barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public. Fitapelli Kurta is interested in speaking to investors who have complaints regarding Mr. Cummings (CRD# 4425912).

Anthony Cummings has spent fourteen years in the securities industry and was most recently registered with Edward Jones in Lutherville Timonium, Maryland (2002-2016). Previous registrations include American Express Financial Advisors in Minneapolis, Minnesota (2001) and IDS Life Insurance Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota (2001). He has passed two securities industry examinations: Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination) and Series 7 (General Securities Representative Examination). He is currently not registered with any state or firm.

According to his BrokerCheck report, Anthony Cummings has received one FINRA sanction and one customer complaint, and was discharged from his former employer.

In May 2017 FINRA sanctioned him following allegations he converted customer funds. FINRA’s findings state further: “Cummings solicited $60,000 from the customer for personal expenses and the funds came directly from the customer’s account at the firm. Cummings kept the funds and failed to repay his customer. Cummings acted unethically by accepting the funds without the means or intent to repay the customer.” He was barred from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public.

In 2016 a customer alleged Anthony Cummings, while employed at Edward Jones, took a loan of approximately $70,000. The complaint settled for $99,500.

In 2016 he was terminated from his position at Edward Jones following allegations he “borrowed money from a Firm client without the Firm’s knowledge.”
