Amanda Berry Resigned From MML Following Allegations of Rule Violations

Amanda BerryPublicly available records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and accessed on December 14, 2017 indicate that former Oklahoma-based MML Investors Services broker/adviser Amanda Berry has received a customer dispute and resigned from her former employer in connection to alleged rule violations. Fitapelli Kurta is interested in speaking to investors who have complaints regarding Ms. Berry (CRD# 5651609).

Amanda Berry has spent seven years in the securities industry and was most recently registered with MML Investors in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (2017). She was previously registered with NYLife Securities in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (2010-2017). She has passed two securities industry examinations: Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination), which she obtained on June 30, 2010, and Series 6 (Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative Examination), which she obtained on September 24, 2010. She is currently not registered with any state or firm.

According to her BrokerCheck report, she has received one customer complaint and resigned from her former employer in connection to alleged rule violations.

In September 2017 she submitted her voluntary resignation from NYLife Securities “after a review of her business identified that in 2012 her future spouse was named as the owner and beneficiary on a life insurance policy” eight month prior to the death of the policy’s former owner. At that time, FINRA notes, she was the servicing agent on the policy, which paid a death benefit to her future spouse in 2013, and the husband of the deceased “claimed that neither she nor her husband authorized or signed any transfer of ownership forms.”

In September 2017 a customer alleged Amanda Berry, while employed at NYLife Securities, did not authorize or sign the transfer of ownership forms submitted in November 2012 for a life insurance policy. The complaint settled for $90,854.
